About the Arts Center
The Carroll County Creative Arts Center (CAC) is a non-profit community space for promoting, supporting and presenting the creative arts in Carroll County.
We accomplish this mission by providing galleries, classrooms and performance space at the historic Hale Wilkinson Carter Home in downtown Hillsville, VA (405 N Main St) as well as sister venues across the county.
For more information, please read on!
The Center includes intimate indoor space for exhibits, performances and classes featuring local artists, craftspeople, musicians and other innovative experience creators. Outdoor spaces such as large wrap-around porches, community installed pollinator gardens, and nearby outdoor stages are also available. Non-performance based exhibits will usually change every three months. Space is available to use for private studios at a very low cost.
The exhibit space is currently being prepared for a multimedia event in late autumn 2021. Meanwhile, we are able to provide exhibit, performance, teaching and learning experiences. If you have work you would like to share with the community while we are getting ready, we welcome you to contact us.
Volunteering behind the scenes is a wonderful way to be interactive with others in our community. No art experience is necessary. We have a current need for volunteers to help get exhibit and teaching rooms ready for upcoming shows and classes.
